ach vs play+ vs crypto for cashing out, smoothest?

Post by crypto_clayton »

Trying to settle this for myself. I've used all three to pull money out and they all have a catch.

Crypto is fastest once approved but you eat a network fee and the price wobbles while it moves. ACH is set-and-forget but 2 to 5 business days feels like forever after a good night. Play+ prepaid is interesting because the money lands on the card same day usually, then you move it to your bank or spend it.

What's been smoothest for you all around, factoring in fees and not just raw speed? I lean crypto but the fee math annoys me on smaller cashouts. For a 60 dollar pull the fee ratio is brutal.

This is for regulated apps mostly, fwiw.

Play+ all day for me. On my regulated apps here the prepaid card gets funded within a couple hours, then I just spend off it or push to my checking. No big bank delay.

The only annoyance is some Play+ programs have monthly fees if you let it sit, so I empty it. For frequent small cashouts it beats ACH easily.

ACH has just been boring and reliable for me in PA. I request, I forget about it, money shows up in 3 business days. Never had it fail.

Crypto scares me a little just because if you fat-finger an address it's gone. I'll trade a few days of waiting for that peace of mind, honestly.

One thing nobody mentioned. Whatever method you deposit with is usually what they make you withdraw to first, at least up to the deposit amount. That trips people up.

So if you deposited by card you might be stuck taking the first chunk back to that card or an e-wallet before crypto is even an option. Read the cashier terms before you pick your dream method. And set a deposit limit while you're in there.
